hello i try installing different flavors of linux on my laptop: suse, fedora, red hat (toshiba satellite a60 2.53ghz celeron, 192mb ram, ati ?? video), and while installing my l-top shut off. Immediately i turn it back on it shut off again. I have to wait about 10mins before i can turn it back on and it'll boot up again. One of my classmate said it can be the video card. One of my teacher said it can be bios. Do anyone know what wrong or had the same exp. and tell me what to do, thank you.

Try running an OS independent utility like memtest86 to try to isolate the problem.

Hi!
I think , perhaps you must select in the BIOS options "fan always on" .
It seams a temperature problem , and the computer automatically turn off , and when it is cold again let you turn on.
