I'm using Slackware 10.2 on a compaq laptop, and after a little while the screen goes black like going into hibernation, but when i get it out of hibernation, i'm unable to use the keyboard and mouse... anything i can do to fix this??
Also sometimes i can't get back from the black screen....?

This has now progressed to "/dev/hda1 contains a file system with errors, check forced" upon boot. after it's done checking, i get this message: "/dev/hda1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY." I do this... but not really sure what to do... nothing seems to work. Anyone know how to fix this problem? or even know what the probelm is? .... okay... while i was just typing this... my computer just rebooted by itself... uugghh!! what's goin on??

Doesn't sound too great...
In order to do a fsck on your boot drive, you are going to have to do it unmounted. Don't even to attempt to do it while it is mounted as it will screw it all up. You may want to boot with some kind of linux live (knoppix) disk or even your Slackware boot CD. Then try a fsck /dev/hda -r - I assume this is an ext2 partition?
ACPI does not seem to be working on your setup. It is trying but does not seem to be coming out of hybernation very well. The first thing to do is check your /dev/hda to make sure that their are not any errors on it and then try to run without allowing the laptop to go to hybernation mode.
