I am relatively new Linux user. I saw that you set up a Inspiron 9300 using an old version on the Linux kernel so that it could have dual-head monitors that had an extended desktop. I have been trying for two days solid to set this up, because I love dual monitors, but I have been un-able. I have tried copying your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file on your site (http://rtr.ca/dell_i9300/), but it still doesn;t seem to work. all it does is clone the display of the upper left hand corner of my main display. I have tried a number of different fixes, included using proprietary drivers, ATI fglrx code, envy and anything I could find but still nothing. As I said I am a newbie, so I can;t guarantee that I did all these correctly, but after trying for 9+ hours I am stuck. Any help that you could give would be very appreciated.
