HI, I have Linux on ASUS A3E 5003 Laptop. My problem is with build-in speakers

"The build-in stereo speaker system allows you to hear audio without additional attachments. The multimedia sound system features an integrated digital audio controller that products rich, vibrant sound (result improved with external stereo headphones or speakers). Audio features are software controlled.¨

I can listen music from the outside jack (with out speakers) using 6 channel sound.

there have ALL information:

Hi,

I'm trying to have linux on A3E but with mandrake or suse I have problem with graphic mode - monitor is not recognized and working only in text mode, even with manual configuration 1024x768@60Hz. Could you show your solution.

best regards
hrekin

How do you plan on listening to something without speakers? or do you mean external speakers?

I can't get my audio jack to work on my laptop (Intel 82801DB/DBL/DBM) for the life of me. You have the ICH-6 version of the controller... I have the ICH-4 version.

Something that might help is a kernel flag that enables the ICH functions of the audio controller... I don't remember where it is though.

I also noticed that you have the following modules loaded:

Which should cause USB conflicts. Have you tried to get your USB stuff working? If you have, how did you do it?

I build kernel 2.6.13 and from some weeks I have everything properly working except build in 1.3 Mpixel camera.
If someone needs some config just write me on ivancho@kt.mgu.bg or write here. I often don't check this forum, and my answer could late.

Thanks allot
