i have an hp zx5295us laptop... and bought a pcmcia creative SB audigy2 ZS sound card... its only reading my unboard sound card and not that one... how do i install it and set it as my default?

under windows it has play back feature where it will play back through my old sound card and use my onboard speakers when nothing is plugged into it...

i checked the creative site and they dont have any linux drivers or anything...

iam using fedore core 3...

Any help would be appreciated,

Maybe the card wasn't for your OS to begin with. Did you check the package to see if it supports Linux? You could also check some Linux support sites for drivers. This guide might help too. Good luck.

Default Um

I don't know if this is the right suggestion but you could try and see what the bios says. I haven't done this on laptops but I have a soundcard installed on my desktop other than the onboard one so I had to disable the onboard sound in the bios. After that the other soundcards was working. I think I did this not only with windows(definately works) but I think I had this working with Linux Ubuntu 6. Hope that helps?!
