Default sd card

Hi everyone my laptop has an inbuilt multi card but when I put in my sd card nothing happens. If I use my lead from the camera and all is okay. The following are my laptop specs on this lap I am using Fedora 7, my desktop running Ubuntu Feisty picks up the multi card all the time. Any help would be appreciated.

after you put the card in does following command show anything:

# fdisk -l
