Angry My ATI X1400 Grafik card doesnt work with 3D function !!!

1stly, I will talk about my hardware system :
Laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-692 Dual Core Wireless Intel 3945ABG, Graphiccard ATI Radeon X1400 128 ( up to 256 MB ), TV Out, Card Reader , ...
When I intsalled Suse Linux 10.1, most of hardware drivers were found , except 4 the ATI Graphic card ?!
Then I try to connect to Internet and look in the ATI Website for the driver. And I found it.
Then I installed the driver as the advice. Now Linux can display with 1280x680, but 3D not a little function !
I look again in the internet 4 the information about this, and try to test again, and the result is that : there is problem with the kernel (?!), too difficult 4 a newbie like me to understand .
So who can help me ? Thank you very much !

Hi,
I have the same card and it works fine.
I have Fedora Core 6 and I just found a guide for Fedora.
What's your distro?
We can search together
Bye,
